Energy system analyst (internship or working student contract)

EGI (Elia Grid International) is a dynamic and international team of experts in power systems. We build a strong partnership with our international clients and deliver high quality solutions as agile partner in innovative power consultancy services. Our team of experts offers consultancy and engineering services on the international energy market and develops power system projects for third parties based on proven knowledge and hands-on-experience developed in their homebased TSO’s (Elia in Belgium and 50Hertz in Germany) as well as internationally.

What you will do?

— Hands on work ! You will support us facilitating the valorization of renewables and decentral actors in the
energy sector and contribute to our data driven valuation frameworks
— Following on the latest evolutions in the power sector and it’s infrastructure, including upcoming opportunities, such as grid and market integration of renewables, hydrogen, PtX, and energy storage systems
— Evaluating developments (quantitatively and qualitatively) and supporting us in bringing the story, preparation of pitches, slide-decks, and reports
— Developing creative solutions and applying new methods for the energy services of tomorrow

Who are you?

— You are a doer and motivated quick learner with high analytical ability
— You currently pursue a Master or are at the end of your Bachelor’ studies in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, Data Science, or a similar discipline
— You have a basic understanding of and interest in power sector related topics, such as the power grid,
power markets, and the impact of renewable energy on the power system
— You enjoy solving problems and taking on new challenges with your inquisitive, committed, and purposedriven mind-set
— You are comfortable in dealing with data and bring some experience in Python, R, or GAMS
— You have a flair for energy systems analysis, optimization, and optimally have already worked with power
sector or energy system models
— You are fluent in English with basic knowledge in German or French considered a plus
