HVAC underground cable system design
EGI delivered the concept and reference design for a high-capacity underground power corridor supporting a large-scale urban infrastructure development. The assignment covered the design of HVAC cable systems at multiple voltage levels to enable reliable bulk power transmission from generation sources to primary and bulk supply substations.
EGI provided cable technology and civil engineering expertise to develop modular installation solutions using trenches, troughs, and ventilated culverts. The work included technology optioneering, assessment of installation methods, definition of key design parameters, preliminary cable sizing and ampacity analysis, environmental and soil investigations, detailed cable system and civil designs, reactive power studies, ventilation and cooling concepts, and the development of installation concepts, cost estimates, and bills of quantities to support robust and scalable implementation.
