EGI served as the owner’s engineer for a pioneering offshore interconnection project in the Baltic Sea, enabling the linkage of two national offshore wind farm systems. The development connected the wind farms via submarine cables and incorporated serial voltage source converters to manage differences in transmission system frequencies.
EGI provided technical consulting, defined project requirements, and prepared the tendering documentation for civil works and station layout. The team supported the entire procurement process, including Q&A, bid evaluation, and contract negotiations. We performed quality control of technical documentation throughout the permitting phase, and assisted in securing all necessary permits ahead of site preparation and construction.
