Project Scope:
Development of a 380 kV transmission backbone connecting coastal and inland regions to enable the large-scale integration of offshore wind energy into the national grid. The project strengthened transmission capacity and system robustness to support the energy transition.

Project Components:

  • Construction of a double 380 kV high-voltage connection (2 x 3000 MVA) over approximately 40 km:

    • 18 km using HTLS (High Temperature Low Sag) conductors

    • 22 km using AMS conductors

    • 10 km of 380 kV underground cable

  • Construction of a new high-voltage substation at the coastal landing point.

  • Development of two 380 kV GIS converter substations to manage the transition between overhead lines and underground cables.

Services Provided:

  • Full engineering and project development, including detailed design and system studies.

  • Environmental impact assessments and support in obtaining public planning permissions.

  • Project planning, procurement strategy, tendering, contract negotiation, and award.

  • Construction supervision and commissioning oversight.

Project Outcome:
Successfully delivered a critical high-voltage backbone infrastructure enabling the transmission of offshore wind generation to inland demand centers, enhancing grid capacity, reliability, and supporting the transition toward a more interconnected “Internet of Energy.”
