Project Scope:
Development of a 380 kV transmission backbone connecting coastal and inland regions to enable the large-scale integration of offshore wind energy into the national grid. The project strengthened transmission capacity and system robustness to support the energy transition.
Project Components:
Construction of a double 380 kV high-voltage connection (2 x 3000 MVA) over approximately 40 km:
18 km using HTLS (High Temperature Low Sag) conductors
22 km using AMS conductors
10 km of 380 kV underground cable
Construction of a new high-voltage substation at the coastal landing point.
Development of two 380 kV GIS converter substations to manage the transition between overhead lines and underground cables.
Services Provided:
Full engineering and project development, including detailed design and system studies.
Environmental impact assessments and support in obtaining public planning permissions.
Project planning, procurement strategy, tendering, contract negotiation, and award.
Construction supervision and commissioning oversight.
Project Outcome:
Successfully delivered a critical high-voltage backbone infrastructure enabling the transmission of offshore wind generation to inland demand centers, enhancing grid capacity, reliability, and supporting the transition toward a more interconnected “Internet of Energy.”
