Facing the greatest challenge our species has ever known…

The sixth assessment report from IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) was released on August 9th and summarized with a powerful and worrying statement: “Climate change is widespread, rapid, and intensifying“.

Climate change is already affecting every region on Earth, in multiple ways.

For 1.5°C of global warming, there will be increasing heat waves, longer warm seasons, and shorter cold seasons. At 2°C of global warming, heat extremes would more often reach critical tolerance thresholds for agriculture and health, the report shows.

The warming stripes show global warming in cities and countries around the world. – with the concentration of “red” years in the 21st century. That long-term trend is continuing in 2020.
